Select Spaces

Used to create a selection set of spaces. The selection set can be restricted by turning on the Label setting and entering a space label for the search criteria in the Label field. A data point in the active model activates the restricted selection set.

Accessed from:

  • Ribbon: Building Design > Architectural > Place Architectural Elements > Space split buttonSelect Spaces

An existing selection set can be added to by turning on the Add to Previous Selection Set setting and entering a new space label for the search criteria, followed by another data point in the active model.

When the Label setting is off, all spaces in the active model are selected when a data point is entered.

Search criteria can be an exact phrase or regular expression and is currently limited to the value entered in the Label field. Regular expressions are powerful notations for describing string-matching patterns that have wide acceptance. DOS style regular expressions are available in the space utility for use in searching.
